How Freed People Makes An Impact
At Freed People, we are dedicated to eradicating human trafficking through innovative solutions, unwavering collaboration, and a commitment to restoring freedom to those who need it most.
Our work focuses on four key pillars: Locate, Recover, Equip, and Connect.
-
Locate
The first step to rescuing victims is finding them. We partner with local, state, and federal agencies to locate missing and exploited minors and women. Using advanced technology and investigative techniques, we leave no stone unturned. Our efforts include:
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Cutting-edge tools analyze patterns, behavior, and data to uncover where victims are being held.
Social Media Scrubbing: Searching online platforms for clues, traffickers’ activity, and missing persons’ digital footprints.
Adult Website Monitoring: Systematically identifying victims being exploited on adult content websites.
Traffickers often operate in the shadows, but our comprehensive approach shines a light in the darkest corners to bring victims one step closer to freedom.
-
Recover
Rescue missions require precision, speed, and dedication. That’s why we’ve established Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) strategically positioned along two of the busiest trafficking corridors in the U.S.: I-10 and I-35 in Texas. These teams act as force multipliers for law enforcement, providing direct support during rescues.
What makes our recovery efforts stand out:
Trained Response Teams: Expertly trained to handle high-stress situations, our teams assist in safely rescuing victims.
Collaboration with Law Enforcement: By working hand-in-hand with officers, we enhance their capacity to execute operations effectively.
Immediate Victim Support: Once recovered, victims are immediately connected with resources to ensure their safety and well-being.
Through rapid action, we’re not just rescuing lives — we’re restoring hope.
-
Equip
Rescues require the right tools, training, and resources. We empower recovery agents and law enforcement to act swiftly and efficiently by providing them with everything they need to save lives, including:
Funding for Operations: Supporting the logistical costs of recovery missions.
State-of-the-Art Tools: From rescue equipment to advanced AI and software, we ensure agents have the technology to succeed.
Education & Training: Offering specialized training on human trafficking dynamics, victim recovery, and tactical operations.
Equipping recovery agents not only accelerates the rescue process but also ensures that more lives are saved.
-
Connect
Traffickers often move victims across state lines to evade detection, but we make sure they can’t hide. Our extensive network of recovery agents, law enforcement, and organizations spans across communities, states, and regions.
What our network achieves:
Seamless Communication: Real-time information sharing ensures traffickers are tracked and victims are located quickly.
Cross-Jurisdictional Support: Collaboration across state lines eliminates barriers that often slow down rescue efforts.
Strong Partnerships: Building trust and cooperation between agencies to unify the fight against trafficking.
By connecting people, resources, and expertise, we make recovery efforts more effective and efficient.
The Human Trafficking Crisis in Texas
Human trafficking is a major issue in Texas, with 313,000 victims statewide, including 79,000 minors exploited for sex and 234,000 workers trapped in labor trafficking. Traffickers profit $600 million annually from labor trafficking, while sex trafficking costs the state $6.6 billion in damages.
Together, we can turn the tide and create a future where every person is free from exploitation.
